Background

The area was designed to be able to contain any potential spill of an existing pre-filter skid concrete tank. Coletanche® ES 2 was the perfect choice to be used as secondary containment to prevent pollution as a replacement of conventional waterproofing solution. The presence of in-place pipes and numerous penetrations, pads and steel supports was not a problem as the geomembrane can be easily cut on-site and welded to existing structure for an efficient connection. The surface weight between 4.2 and 6.4 kg/m2 of Coletanche® geomembrane allow it to resist wind uplift thus enabling placement of the geomembrane underneath gravel soils resulting in faster and efficient installation of waterproof geomembrane as a secondary containment of chemical plant.
