Background
Masjid Ar-Rahim Kg. Bukit Panggal was officially opened on 17th May 2019, a year after the start of its construction. The mosque was built on a total of five-acres of land that was cut to its current platform level. The surrounding slope was protected using a Geocellular Confinement System using Maccaferri MacWeb® Geocells and Maccaferri MacDrain® Composite Drainage Layer to provide an overall stable and green finish to the slope.
Geocells are able to contain thicker layers of soil and the perforations in MacWeb® enables roots to grow through them, providing better prevention of erosion.
MacDrain® consists of a 3D mesh layer sandwiched between non-woven geotextiles to provide both drainage and separation to slopes
