Background

Mini stadium at Berakas Garrison, an asset owned by the military was used to accommodate the sport events organised by the military personnel. Remedial works for slope protection at mini stadium area was implemented by constructing mechanically stabilised earth (MSE) retaining wall using Tensar RE uniaxial geogrids in replacement to steel mesh with precast concrete panel facings. The short geogrid “tails” are cast into the incremetal panel and was connected with the remaining geogrid length using a bodkin connection. The wall reinforced with uniaxial geogrids is assembled to create a strong and durable maintenance free structures with versatile finishes.
