Background

Pulau Muara Besar bridge is a dual carriageway bridge of 2.7km long linking Jalan Perusahaan Serasa to Pulau Muara Besar where Hengyi Industries Sdn Bhd project will be developing an oil refinery and aromatics plant. The bridge will provide mainland connectivity and serve as a corridor for the network of utilities. This project has one of the biggest foreign direct investments in Brunei Darussalam. ATH-Chevron Sdn Bhd was able to work with CHEC (China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd) and supply them with aluminium bridge parapets from Varley and Gulliver for the 2.7km long, four-lane main road bridge. Tensar Geogrids, TenCate Polyfelt® PVD and TS (Nonwoven) were supplied to Hiew HY Construction Sdn Bhd to construct the MSE walls. This bridge is planned for completion in 2018.
