Project Description:
Pylon No. 39 is situated 11m from the edge of the crest of a stable but eroding slope.
Due to the access limitations, complicated and sensitive nature of the site, slope protection solution options for the 31m high slope was limited. Bored piles and vegetated erosion control mat would not be suitable for the slope as it is very steep and hard.
The use of Concrete Canvas® would not only provide the quickest installation, but also it would minimize the requirement for heavy machinery during installation and post-construction maintenance.
All in all, the installation took a total of 21 days to be completed by a team of ten, including skilled climbers for HSE purposes.
