Project Description: 

Coastal erosion at the project site has become a growing concern due to rising sea levels and changing climate patterns. To address this, the GEOTUBE® Cellular Bag System was implemented, using interconnected geobags filled with local sand to create strong, wave-resistant barriers. These geobags effectively absorb and dissipate wave energy, reducing erosion along vulnerable coastlines.

The system offers a site-specific, eco-friendly solution that stabilizes the shoreline while maintaining a natural look. Its lightweight design allows for easy transport, quick on-site assembly, and reduced reliance on heavy equipment—making it a cost-effective and efficient erosion control method.

Material Supplied: Maccaferri®  Gabions

Project Description: 

 This project site near residential area was prone to flooding as a result of high tide flow from the upstream area. Maccaferri Gabions was selected as the ideal solution to protect the stream bank from further scouring. 

Reno Mattress® was used to line the river bed which allows settlements to occur without compromising the lining integrity. Maccaferri Gabions and Reno Mattress® made up of double twisted heavily galvanised steel wire with additional polymer coating provides a long term corrosion protection making it suitable to be used in a more aggressive fluvial environment where a longer design life is required.
