Installation Year: 2022
Material Supplied: Forta-Ferro® Concrete Reinforcement
Project Description:
The Helicopter Apron at MINDEF’s Airforce Rimba base experienced cracking along the concrete strips near the drainage, likely due to heavy helicopter loads and water seepage. To address this, the client implemented reinforcement using Forta-Ferro® synthetic fibers in addition to existing steel reinforcement.
Applied at 2 kg/m³, Forta-Ferro® was mixed into the concrete to enhance durability, reduce plastic shrinkage cracking, and improve resistance to flexural stress and fatigue. Being non-corrosive and easy to use with mixer-ready bags, Forta-Ferro® provided a practical and long-lasting solution for concrete repair in high-load areas.

Project Description:
The project involved constructing an access road to the new Nimanja building in Tungku, focusing on durability and cost-efficiency. A 200 mm concrete pavement was used without traditional steel reinforcement. Instead, Forta-Ferro® fibers were added to the concrete mix, enhancing tensile strength, minimizing cracking, and improving overall durability. Proper placement of construction and contraction joints ensured structural continuity and controlled shrinkage-related cracks. This fiber-reinforced design simplified construction, reduced material costs, and significantly improved the pavement's performance and lifespan.

Project Description:
The parking area at the identified site frequently experiences flooding and damage, worsened by heavy vehicle traffic and poor weather, leading to infrastructure deterioration. To address these issues, Forta-Ferro® synthetic fibers will be incorporated into the concrete pavement to elevate and strengthen the surface. This reinforcement improves durability, reduces cracking, and enhances resistance to stress, making the parking area more resilient and capable of withstanding long-term use and environmental impacts.
