Project Description:
Tasek Merimbun, one of Brunei’s treasured cultural and ecological landmarks, was under threat due to serious erosion issues that endangered nearby structures. If left unaddressed, the erosion could have led to the building’s closure, jeopardizing the preservation of this iconic site. To resolve the urgent erosion concerns beneath the structure—especially in low-light areas—Concrete Canvas® was chosen for its effective protective properties.
Using batched rolls of Concrete Canvas® allowed for quick and efficient installation, ideal for the site’s challenging conditions. Known for its strength and versatility, Concrete Canvas® offered a dependable solution that could adapt to various terrain requirements while preventing further slope degradation.
Beyond immediate erosion control, Concrete Canvas® delivers long-term infrastructure protection. This cement-infused fabric activates with water, forming a thin yet robust layer that is waterproof, fire-resistant, and durable. Its suitability for applications such as slope stabilization and channel lining, along with its fast installation—up to ten times quicker than traditional concrete—and low equipment demands, makes it a smart, sustainable alternative. Concrete Canvas® supports long-lasting erosion control while aligning with today’s environmental and conservation goals.
