Project Description: 

 In 2024, slope stabilization works were carried out along the road embankment at Jalan Buau, Mukim Sukang, in the Belait District, following a slope failure. A mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) structure was constructed using StrataWeb® geocells in combination with Tensar® uniaxial geogrid to reinforce the slope. This system provided a long-term and robust solution to restore the embankment’s integrity and prevent further erosion or collapse.

The project site’s remote location posed logistical challenges, making material selection critical. StrataWeb® panels, delivered in compact, collapsed form, and Tensar® geogrids in roll format, allowed for easier transport and handling. Their lightweight properties helped reduce transportation costs and simplified installation on-site, making them an efficient and practical alternative to conventional slope protection methods.
