Project Description:
The Empire Brunei, a renowned five-star resort known for its luxurious offerings and award-winning golf course, continues to uphold its prestigious reputation through the maintenance of its world-class landscape. As part of these efforts, critical attention was directed to the slope running along Hole 18 of the golf course, where signs of soil movement and intermittent slumping posed a serious threat to the integrity and safety of the area.
To prevent further erosion and avoid the potential closure of this signature hole, an immediate and effective slope stabilization solution was required. The chosen approach involved the construction of a reinforced soil structure using Tensar® Uniaxial Geogrids in combination with steel mesh facing. This system was designed to provide structural support while preserving the natural appearance of the landscape through the use of vegetated facings, ensuring both functionality and aesthetic integration with the surrounding environment.
The solution not only secured the slope from ongoing soil displacement but also maintained the visual and operational quality of the golf course. This project reflects The Empire Brunei’s commitment to excellence in both hospitality and landscape preservation, ensuring that the golf course remains a top-tier destination for leisure and international recognition.
